Carmen and Safa had a glorious, joyus wedding. They had details and traditions that were modern, yet also encompassed unique cultural traditions.
It began when Safa drove to Carmen’s father’s house to win her over with her family’s blessing by completing many hilarious games; he and his cohorts also sang a sweet rendition of “All My Life” by K-Ci and JoJo prior to him sneaking his first “first look” at his bride in her beautiful, traditional dress. Both families participated in a heartfelt Chinese Tea ceremony prior to Carmen getting into her gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown.
A nervous bride and groom chose the elegant Art Gallery of Alberta, for their second, emotional “first look” of the day. Carmen and Safa are a couple that make you believe in love in its most pure and raw form. They are so connected with each other, it gives one so many deep and happy feelings. It’s the kind of love that gives you chills.
After a few family photos, Carmen and Safa proceeded to The Matrix, a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta, to exchange their vows. After an invigorating Dragon Dance, everyone was able to partake in delightful food and dance the night away.
This day was so special, because it allowed Carmen and Safa a few quiet and intimate moments to share in each other’s love. In addition, it was inspiring to see a wedding showcase who the couple was inclusive of their cultures.
